Quality Engineering Design and Manufacturing

IIT Kharagpur is the oldest and the largest IIT. With a 2100 acre campus and rich infrastructure, it is ranked amongst top 5 engineering colleges in India. It is a regular in top 500 global QS rankings with a healthy research and academic environment. IIT Kharagpur allows for interdisciplinary study in the form of Additionals, Minors, Micro and Electives.

Additional courses can be taken by any student from any department in an empty slot in a semester. These courses allow students to complete minors or micro specialisations in a discipline. For example, students of QEDM can complete minor in CSE or MnC if they take courses from that department in the free slots of some semesters. The only requirement for minor is CG>8 and micro is CG>7.5.

There is also a rich culture of societies and research groups that help exploring interests and develop skills. Students can prepare for any job profile they want, as the institute does not place much restrictions during placements.
